CST Testing Reflection

I feel horrible about the test. I feel I didn’t my best. If I had the chance to take the test over again I would. The English was part was very boring. All of the reading that I had to was pathetic. Most of the stories were 2 and a half pages long and then 2 questions on one whole page. What a waste of paper. On the math part I honestly guessed on a lot of those questions. In the beginning of the test I was doing great. Towards the end I got very lazy and gave up. If I could take both tests over I totally would.  

My Feelings about the Upcoming CSTs

My feelings about the upcoming CSTs are AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I really hate testing. You have to read all these words and bubble in these tiny little bubbles.  The room must be quite and you can't have your iPod in your ears or near you. You can’t have your phone out and if you do have it out you will get in trouble. The real reason I hate testing is because you really have to focus and actually pay attention. I know I will do fine I just really hate this test. A good night rest and a healthy breakfast!! I'll do amazing!

: My Feelings about the Upcoming CSTs

I want to go crawl under my bed instead of doing star testing because you have to get 8 hours of sleep and you have to have a healthy breakfast and all this stuff I don’t like doing. I really really hate testing. It's long and boring and it’s a waste of paper because most kids guess on it anyway. I really don't want to do it but I do take my time and read each question carefully. I don’t really mind doing the English part but I don’t like math at all. Right now I’m very stressed out because I have to really study now and I don’t want to.

“Why do women chose to stay in prostitution?” In the world we live in today there are a lot of homeless people. The mostly live in down town San Diego under bridges and behind building and many other places. Women give men sex for money. Most women do it because they feel safe, they can’t get out, they’re trying to help their family, or they just do it because they like. Prostitution is illegal and a bad excuse for anything. It’s important to know this information so young ladies can know that prostitution is not the answer and there are other things out there that you can do.

Today after school I went to the beach for a memorial for my cousin who was killed April 1st.
I went to the beach and stood in the water and let the waves take all my anger and frustration away. It's been really hard for me lately to stay focus in school or just focus period. I feel like I have the world on my shoulder and everyone is leaning on me. Things feel like they are getting worse but in reality it’s really getting better. I’m very sad and upset that my cousin was killed but I know she’s in a better place. May Britnee Wright rest in peace.

UnGoogleable Research Paper Highlight Reflection

Reading and highlighting the sources for my UnGoogleable research paper helped me to remember a lot more information and facts that I need. I can break my information into three sections. The pros, the cons, and other unnecessary comments and pictures. My next step  to write a research paper  should be taking all the information that I have and start putting it into paragraphs and make sure it has (F.I.R.M. Factual  main Idea  Relevant  and it Makes sense). I also need to make sure I have a lot of facts instead of my own opinions and beliefs. In order to do this I will focus really hard.

Today in class I looked for answers to my research question “Why do women chose to stay in prostitution”? I kind of know why but I want to see what other people think.  When I found a website related to my focus question I took a lot of information. I knew some websites where unacceptable because of the nude pictures, videos, and profanity used in them.  I know the websites I selected are good because the have a lot of great reviews and my teacher recommended them.  Tomorrow I will I expect that Ms. Priester will tell me to add a little more information to my topic question.

Third Quarter Awards Review

The third quarter awards assembly was in the auditorium Friday April 8, 2011 held by all the teachers, social workers, and the Y.E.S program. Students who have worked really hard, had a 4.0, or have improved in school got an award.

 I received 60 dollars from the Y.E.S program for being apart of the catering team. My favorite part of the assembly was when my name was called. I was not expecting it at all. I was in shock. I thought to my self “did they really just say my name?” In the end I was happy and grateful for everything.

My focus question is “Why do women chose to stay in prostitution”? 

I already know that most women stay in prostitution because they feel that their pimp is the only one who loves them. I also know that women stay prostitutes because they earn money, drugs, or because they have no where else to go. Additionally when they do a good job they get an expensive item of their choice. When they don’t do what they are suppose to they get beat badly. By doing research, I hope to learn new strategies to help women out there on the streets so they can know that prostitution isn’t the only answer.

From all the feed back I got today I feel the same way.

A lot of women do it because they feel that no one cares or loves them or that there are no other options. Most prostitutes feel that the pimp is the only person who loves them and that may be true in some cases. Prostitution and drugs is not a good way to hide your pain or a good thing to go running to. A lot of women die every day, every week, every month, and EVERY YEAR from getting aids or HIV or some type of disease. Prostitution is a horrible thing to do in live.

My topic of choice was” Why do women chose to stay in prostitution?” I chose that topic because it interests me and I really wanted to hear what other people had to say.

Jessica (house mom) "they get trapped in a cycle, they see prostitution in a way you can get money".

Megan (House social worker) "someone women have a drug habit so they do it to get money. Most of them have been forced into it".

McKenzie (supervisor) "for a lot of them it’s not a choice because they get stuck with drugs or pimps. They don’t know how to get out or the other support there is out there".

Aaron (House dad)” They feel that there’s no other choice, which isn’t true”

Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection

Fourth quarter kick off was pretty boring. In the morning the freshman had to do a scavenger hunt and we split up into three teams. I was on team peace and love and we came in last place. After that we went to Ms. Priester’s classroom to make monkeys.

In the afternoon the entire campus played three different sports. We split into six different teams and played Water races, baseball, & capture the flag. My team lost every single because everyone was lazy or didn’t want to play as a team. In the end team six won an ice cream party.
